Some days deserve to go down in history. On September 22nd 2015, Internet of Food signed the charter letter provided by the Internet Society, designating it as the Special Interest Group for Internet of Food – the first Special Interest Group in the history of the Internet Society.
This affiliation with the Internet Society marks the end of a long process of conceptualizing and crafting an application and later on by-laws and the handling of formalities. But it also marks the beginning of the important work regarding holding discussions around the issue of the future infrastructure and standards for the digital world of food.
The discussions that now commence will hopefully lay a solid foundation for future digital infrastructure standards and, hence, for future innovation in the global food system.
What did Winston Churchill say?
”Now this is not the end. It is not even the beginning of the end. But it is, perhaps, the end of the beginning.”
And we all know that after the beginning eventually came a great end.
On behalf of the board of Internet of Food
